Review: Dark Age

Dark Age Dark Age by Pierce Brown

This has been a rough ride. I had times when I couldn't put this book down and I had times when I had to take a break. I really liked all the previous books in the saga, but somehow this has raised the bar even further. It was exhilarating but sometimes brutal. I had a lot of fun reading it even though the language with all the Latin references and the huge number of characters made it hard sometimes. I can't even remember how many times I had to turn back to the dramatis personae page for reference.

So I loved it and can't wait for the last book in the saga. But now, I'm gonna take a break and read something much lighter.

Vessel by Lisa A. Nichols My rating: 3 of 5 stars I read this one as a pick by the Sword and Laser book club. It is always fun to read together and have conversations about the books in the forum. This pick, however, hasn't become my favorite. I really appreciated how it approached the relationships between the characters and that part of the story was very well written. Review: The Silence of the Lambs

The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris My rating: 5 of 5 stars I've read this book like 3 times when I was a teenager, but apart from the main plot I only remembered that I loved it very much. I think I didn't even know at that time that this was the part of a series. Now though I intend to read the whole series in the "correct" order so after finishing Red Dragon, I re-read Silence of the Lambs as well. Even though some memories came back during reading it was still a very exciting and enjoyable experience. Thriller and horror and not my main go-to genre, but I think Hannibal Lecter is one of the best villains of all time. I totally recommend it to anyone, even if not having read Red Dragon.
