I listened to this as an audible audiobook and I think since it's been narrated by the author this is the way this book should be "read". I heard about this one in the autobiography of Lauren Graham and thought "let's give it a try". This is absolutely not my genre but I quite enjoyed it. I wouldn't say that I am drawn in to "this world", nor would I leave my military sci-fi and urban fantasy books, but it was a great experience for once in a while.

I don't want to be spoilery but as the author said in her autobiography this book contains a lot of autobiographical elements, although ultimately being a fiction. I think that is the reason the main character was so believable. So it's a great experience to learn insight into the head of a wannabe actor and also take a walk down memory lane into the 90's.

I totally recommend it to basically everybody.

The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris My rating: 5 of 5 stars I've read this book like 3 times when I was a teenager, but apart from the main plot I only remembered that I loved it very much. I think I didn't even know at that time that this was the part of a series. Now though I intend to read the whole series in the "correct" order so after finishing Red Dragon, I re-read Silence of the Lambs as well. Even though some memories came back during reading it was still a very exciting and enjoyable experience. Thriller and horror and not my main go-to genre, but I think Hannibal Lecter is one of the best villains of all time. I totally recommend it to anyone, even if not having read Red Dragon.
