Review: Good Intentions

Good Intentions Good Intentions by Elliott Kay
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book is not for everyone. And it seems I may not entirely one of those who this is for. I have read the author's other saga and have been a great fan for some time now (BTW Poor Man's Fight is brilliant. Go, and read all the books if you like military sci-fi), and I recognized his beloved writing style and wit in this one as well. It was really well written, the world building was fantastic and unique, the characters loveable, but still. ..

I was a little overwhelmed with the number of sex scenes in the book. And by "little overwhelmed", I mean if someone would have edited out the majority of those, you still would get a decent length urban fantasy book. And I loved the rest. The action, the intrigue, the whole unfolding plot. It's not that the sex scenes were badly written or anything. They were fully justified by the story as well. It's just there were too many of them for me. Go on and call me prudish if you will.

So anyway, as I said that doesn't mean the book is "bad" in any ways, it may just not for everybody.

I'm still really interested in the future of the characters and I've already purchased the sequel, but for now, I have to have a little break.

I still would recommend it to anyone liking urban fantasy.
