Review: United States of Japan

United States of Japan United States of Japan by Peter Tieryas
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

It may have been because I listened to this as an audiobook, but this one didn't resonate with me on almost any levels. Also, I think it's a little bit overhyped as a "sequel" to The Man in the High Castle by Philip K. Dick as neither the writing, nor the story has much in common with the "predecessor". The setting is similar at most. Whatever, it may be an enjoyable read, but as an audiobook this is truly disappointing. May be the low of all the books from the last maybe 5 years. I wouldn't recommend it unless you are really into Japanese culture and haven't read the Philip K. Dick original, which compared to this really is a masterpiece. Or rather I would recommend the original to those people as well.
