I was thinking about giving this book 4 stars, but ultimately it deserves the 5th as well. Or at least 4 and three quarters... and an eighth maybe. So I love Scalzi, therefore I'm somewhat biased. And this is my favourite Scalzi book for a long time. I loved Old Man's War and Zoe's Tale and this new one is almost as good as I remember those. Anyways, this is a beginning of a new series in a new universe and I'm really looking forward for this ride. It's going to be fantastic.

P.s.: I also wanted to write that it's a little bit short, but I read the blog post by the author about the topic and now I know that it's not short, just feels that way, because I immediately would want more.

The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris My rating: 5 of 5 stars I've read this book like 3 times when I was a teenager, but apart from the main plot I only remembered that I loved it very much. I think I didn't even know at that time that this was the part of a series. Now though I intend to read the whole series in the "correct" order so after finishing Red Dragon, I re-read Silence of the Lambs as well. Even though some memories came back during reading it was still a very exciting and enjoyable experience. Thriller and horror and not my main go-to genre, but I think Hannibal Lecter is one of the best villains of all time. I totally recommend it to anyone, even if not having read Red Dragon.
